My focus is eternity

Anxiety is a powerful force that ties us to the future, diverting our attention from the present and stealing our peace. Jesus calls us to live one day at a time, trusting that He will take care of us. When we focus on eternity, we find peace and purpose in the present.

The Traps of Anxiety Anxiety makes us constantly think about the "what ifs." What if we lose our job? What if we get sick? What if something happens to our loved ones? These thoughts paralyze us, preventing us from enjoying the present moment and fully trusting in God's provision.

Jesus instructed us not to worry about tomorrow, for each day has its own challenges (Matthew 6:34). He invites us to live in the present, to focus on His presence, and to trust that He will meet all our needs.

Identifying the Source of Anxiety To deal with anxiety, it's essential to identify the areas where it is stealing our peace. It could be at work, in the family, with health, or finances. By recognizing these areas, we can start handing over these concerns to God.

For example, if work-related anxiety is consuming you, pray and hand that concern over to God. Trust that He is in control and will take care of all your needs. Believing in God's faithfulness helps us rest in His peace.

Praying and Trusting in God Prayer is a powerful tool against anxiety. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present our requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Pray about your worries. Give them to God and trust that He is in control. As you do this, you will begin to experience the peace that only He can give.

Focusing on Eternity When we focus on eternity, our perspective changes. We realize that our earthly concerns are temporary and that God has an eternal purpose for our lives. This perspective gives us peace and purpose in the present.

Remember that God is faithful, and His provision is constant. He knows your needs and is taking care of you. Live one day at a time, trusting in His provision and allowing His peace to guide your steps.
